The Managing Director, Mr. Roy Clements interest in antique grandfather clocks started from the early age of 13 (1953) when he  helped his father restore antique grandfather clock movements in his spare time. Ever since  then he has loved everything mechanical and was one of the reasons why a few years later he studied mechanical engineering at University. He loves the subject matter; and keeps his own very fine collection of antique grandfather clocks. It has proved helpful being a qualified engineer BSc.Mech.E.C.Eng., in understanding the antique grandfather clock mechanisms.  In 1995, together with his long-standing friend, Dr. Hermann Specht, they decided to expand into London's Mayfair. Mr. Clements is called upon to vet for authenticity antique clocks at antique fairs in the U.K., U.S. and Germany and was the antique clocks editor of the worldwide respected Millers Antiques Price Guide to 1984. Pendulum of Mayfair has also been featured in national newspapers including the Sunday Times and our antique grandfather, longcase, tallcase clocks have been featured many times on national tv programs. Dr Specht is the senior member of BDKA (the antique dealers association for Northern Germany) All our antique clocks are sold with a money back guarantee that they are genuine and fully restored.

Pendulum's parent company Coppelia Antiques situated in Cheshire, has now been established over 30 years; it is a family antique clocks business, owned by Valerie and Roy Clements. Their two sons work in the business full time. Duncan is the manager of the antique clock shop in London and deals with all accounting matters. Daniel runs the northern side of operations including the clock workshop and runs the purchasing side of the antique clocks business. The third brother, Adrian is a medical doctor and consults on all health and safety matters within the antique clock business.
